Payne Phalen Community Council Special Meeting – HOPE Academy Expansion – December 8th at 6:30 p.m.

HOPE Community Academy, a local charter school on Payne Avenue, is proposing to expand their current building and to potentially acquire and demolish nearby homes to build a new parking lot on the bluff overlooking Swede Hollow Park. HOPE is requesting that the City of St. Paul issue $22M in revenue bonds in relation to the expansion. The Payne Phalen Community Council wants to get community input on the plan and allow community members to ask questions and voice their support or concerns with this plan. We are attempting to have this special meeting, and communicate what is heard at the meeting, to the City Council before they make a final decision on the funding in December.
