Ordinance Amendments Jan. 19th

The Department of Safety and Inspections (DSI) is currently working on ordinance amendments related to:

  • Sustainable “To Go” Food Packaging:
Evaluating the sustainability of “To Go” packaging for food intended for immediate consumption reflects a growing city and national focus on our waste stream. What should this mean for “To Go” food packaging in Saint Paul? (Plastic bags are outside the scope of this project.)
  • Short Term Rentals:
The renting of homes, apartments, and condominiums for short periods (less than 30 days) represents a popular new business model occurring in Saint Paul and many other U.S. cities. (Examples: Airbnb and VRBO.) How should they be regulated in the Saint Paul?

Join DSI for an evening of discussion on these 2 topics:
   Thursday, January 19th, 2017
6:30pm – 7:30pm – Sustainable “To Go” food packaging
7:40pm – 8:45pm – Short Term Rentals
Location – TBD

Information gained at these meetings will be utilized by DSI in the development of ordinance amendment language. This information will be combined with information currently being developed by workgroups on these topics.
