The city partners with local district councils to organize annual community cleanup events for residents to properly dispose of large refuse items, recycle materials not collected in the curbside program and share usable goods with others. Saint Paul residents have the opportunity to attend all clean up events listed below.

The city is committed to recycling and reusing as much of the materials collected at these events as possible. For example, tires, appliances, scrap metal and electronics are all recycled; bikes collected at the event are restored and returned to the road for re-use. In addition there is a re-use area for residents to share usable household items with others. Participants using the drop-off sites are encouraged to check out the re-use area before heading home.
