Maryland Avenue trial 3-lane configuration

“Ramsey County is committed to mill and overlay Maryland Avenue between Greenbrier Street and Johnson Parkway as part of the 2017 pavement preservation program. The County is very interested in hearing from the Community regarding the trial demonstration of a three-lane configuration on Maryland Avenue. This demonstration would precede pavement work and would help determine whether a three-lane configuration can improve safety and provide acceptable traffic operations. This type of demonstration will involve removing existing stripes and temporarily repainting as a three lane section. Operations will be closely monitored for a 6-8 week period before a final striping decision is made. While traffic models suggest some operational issues could occur, it is important to remember that models are simply a tool commonly used to assess operations and frame potential problems. Our primary goal is to maintain the highest level of safety for all users of Maryland Avenue.”
